A Generation Xer's caregiving journey

It’s called handicapped area seating for a reason

Recently, I was commuting to work on the train. There was no one sitting in the handicapped area section so I sat down with my two heavy bags.

As soon as a man with a rollator  came on the train, I gave up my seat so that he could sit.

I was miffed. A young guy with only a mobile phone and his headphones was also sitting in the handicapped area and did not get up.

A few stops later, I was able to find a seat.

Think twice before you occupy a seat or area reserved for the handicapped.
