I’m not going to go on and on about how significant the past several days have been for not only those who live in the US, but also the world. What I am going to highlight is on those who have seen a lot in their years.
Our new president-elect highlighted a story about a centenarian who when out and voted. All across the TV and in and around my city I saw people helping the elderly to get out and vote. There was also the nonagenarian who voted from an ambulance truck. Now that’s determination!
I also did my bit with my own septuagenarian. I personally took her to go and vote. She told me that the first time she voted was in 1963, when she received her voter’s registration card. Even though the card has weathered time, the ladies were still able to find her name.
There weren’t words to express how she and much of the family felt in that moment. We just hope that the new administration will do a good job.
