Why its important to keep track of medications

Yesterday, I went to pick up my grandmother’s medicine. I got home and I realized that there were 2 medicines that were the same, but in different doses.

It’s a good thing that Grandma taught me how to read. I promptly went back to the pharmacy, and asked that the previous one be cancelled.

The doctor’s office was supposed to cancel the previous one, but didn’t.

It’s a good thing I caught it! Otherwise, she could be been in danger of an overdose!

So take this lesson for me, check the prescriptions before you leave the pharmacy and before you give them to the person you are caring for. It makes a big difference.

It’s OK to say that you’ll deal with it later!

One of the lessons that keep repeating itself in my life is that it’s OK to step back and establish time for yourself. No matter how many self-imposed or other obligations you have, it’s important to establish boundaries.

Over a year ago, I declared that I was finally going to get rid of the storage account.

I never thought I would see a Sunday where all I would do is mostly blog, but here we are. Its been a long almost seven years, yet it look a bit over a year to get focused to finally clear out and cancel the storage account.

Of course, I know I couldn’t had done it without family and friends.

The decluttering continues.

Yesterday. I tested out a boombox my great-grandmother brought for us back in the 80′s.

The speakers were in a word, gone. The power was on, but we couldn’t hear anything.

I told my grandmother that the boombox had to go. However, she did have another option.

My uncle installed a sound system with a phonograph (record player) and a radio tuner, back in the 60′s and the both still work.

It just goes to show that one never knows what a bit of decluttering can reveal.

We are shocked and sadden to hear of the passing of Whitney Houston. This is hitting a nerve close to home, since we (the lady and I) know all too well what its like to lose a daughter and a mother.

Our thoughts are with her family, especially her mother and daughter.

What a Wild Start to February for Women.

If February started like this, I don’t want to know what would Valentine’s Day, let alone Leap Year Day would entail.

First off, just in case you didn’t hear, Komen decided to stop providing funding to Planned Parenthood.

There was the Pfizer recall of birth control pills.

Then a few days later, Komen decided to restore funding to Planned Parenthood.

On the bright side, we all get to red today for National Wear Red Day for Heart Disease for Women.

If we get through this, then we will have more reasons than we can count to celebrate Women’s History Month in March.

Even though I wasn’t physically there at #altsummit, I felt the vibes traveling all over Twitter and all over the world. The conference tweets served as confirmation that I was indeed on the right track for moving to the next step in my life.

One of the tweets that brought that message home was this one.

I’ve already started making stuff from the things I found on Pinterest. I haven’t taken the actual pictures yet (I’ll save that for another post.) However, I did create a wall of things that I did make so far.
