A Generation Xer's caregiving journey

When friends say goodbye…

The past several months for us have been full of goodbyes.  In terms of my grandmother’s friends, I guess it’s that time.

It’s been hard to figure out which ceremony to go to. Some were across town and others are across the state.

In the end, I decided to attend one funeral today on my grandmother’s behalf since the person was a longtime family friend.

The service made me realize how lucky I am to still have Grandma with me, no matter how many times we bump heads.

The words that were spoken by the family were my words about my grandmother today, here and now.

Plus with 90 degree temperature, there was no way I was going to allow her to go out in the heat.
