ABC News Brings Caregiving to the forefront

This week, ABC News is finally shedding light on caregiving through its coverage on Alzheimer’s Disease.

As a working person, what really hits home for me is the call for more companies to allow for caregiving leave, much like folks have for childcare. Caregivers are also more likely to be sick themselves because most of their energies is spent caregiving. One of the main reasons I freelance is to have the flexibility to take care of Mama. I am approached nearly every week to consider full-time opportunities, but until there is support for caregiving, i.e flex-time, part-time arrangements, etc. its going to be a long road ahead.
